FAQ: What is a OLC type task?

The Onlinecontest (OLC) is a privately organized, decentralized soaring competition for glider, hang glider, and paraglider pilots. The OLC is operated by Segelflugszene GmbH, a German non-profit organisation, founded in 2000. "Segelflugszene" translates into "gliding szene" in English.

The scoring formula used in the OLC for paragliding is using task types which allow free choosen turnpoints and triangle flights. A pilot can make his/her own decision for choosing turnpoints, to avoid dangerous situations and to fly the best personal distance for the day.
The scoring software calculates later the best result, based on pilot decisions.
